My heart wants out today,
out into the wild-
out among the great stone canyons
and waters falling down.
My chest will collapse if I
don’t fill it up with air;
catch the song and follow it
into the vast ‘out there’.
My feet need wild today
to roam and then to run;
this horizon’s grown too thin on me,
I need another one…

Yes, yes.
Find the wild.
My heart and my feet need wild much of the time.
Nothing worse than feeling trapped and tamed.
Yeah! Let’s go for a run…
Oh yeah, that’s why it is call the great outdoors. Understand completely.
What a delightful poem. It seemed to serve the purpose of letting out your heart.
Yes, I agree with ybonesy…the poem itself has a wandering, roaming feel to it.
Nicely done. I hope you got out before our wild weather today!
Wow
Beautiful. You’ve caught the truth there. I wish that I *didn’t* feel trapped and tamed so often, by the stuff of life!
