My heart wants out today

My heart wants out today,

out into the wild-

out among the great stone canyons

and waters falling down.

My chest will collapse if I

don’t fill it up with air;

catch the song and follow it

into the vast ‘out there’.

My feet need wild today

to roam and then to run;

this horizon’s grown too thin on me,

I need another one…

  1. Yes, yes.
    Find the wild.
    My heart and my feet need wild much of the time.
    Nothing worse than feeling trapped and tamed.

  2. Yeah! Let’s go for a run…

  4. What a delightful poem. It seemed to serve the purpose of letting out your heart.

  5. Yes, I agree with ybonesy…the poem itself has a wandering, roaming feel to it.

    Nicely done. I hope you got out before our wild weather today!

  6. Wow

  7. Beautiful. You’ve caught the truth there. I wish that I *didn’t* feel trapped and tamed so often, by the stuff of life!
